Atlanta Wedding Photographer | Something a Little Different

Something a little different! Recently I had the opportunity to attend a cottage wedding workshop in Nashville, Tennessee with the fabulous Julie Paisley Photography. While I was there I kind of figured out I kind of, sort of, love shooting weddings too. Big huge thanks to my beautiful model and fellow photographer, Alissa, of Alissa Saylor Photography? and her hubby, Dan (the history teacher?)! What a cute couple!  Like seriously, absolutely adorable. Married 9 years and just as in love as the day they tied the knot. It was so obvious to all the photographers who attended the workshop.  They called this their “second wedding”. They had me fooled from the beginning; I thought they were in that new stage of bliss. I wish I would have switched over and taken a little bit of video of the session with them. Love. It’s really what matters.  Right?

I 100% believe in continuing education.  I have been a photographer for a long while now but I always want to push myself to learn something new.  People have asked me so many times why I don’t shoot more weddings.  My answer has always been “I’ll never shoot weddings”.  The reason?  I just didn’t want to fail.  I have always felt like my niche was child photography and that I needed to stay in my comfort zone.  I love my little people!  This workshop showed me that I don’t have to focus on one thing ALL the time.  Change is good. Change is vital!  Keeps us growing! Keep learning my friends.  It will open your eyes to soooo many wonderful things.

On a side note – I can’t wait to go back to Nashville, Tennessee!  It was a Tuesday night and their music row was jumping! We found a cute little place called Paradise Park Trailer Resort. Yep, you read that right!  The live music was fantastic though!  Nashville, we will be back. Consider yourself warned.
